Job Description
Job Summary: The Logistics and Traffic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective transportation and distribution of goods. This includes coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing freight and carrier relations, maintaining shipment documentation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in optimizing logistics processes and improving service levels across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, suppliers, and customers. Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods according to shipping schedules. Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings. Track and trace shipments, providing updates to relevant stakeholders. Communicate with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues. Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs paperwork, and invoices. Maintain accurate records in ERP or transportation management systems (TMS). Ensure compliance with local, national, and international transport regulations. Assist in managing returns, damaged goods, and freight claims. Support continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and transportation processes. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred. 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination. Knowledge of freight and shipping regulations (domestic and international). Familiarity with logistics software (TMS, ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, PLEX etc.). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with frequent communication via phone and email. May require occasional travel to warehouses or distribution centers. Some extended hours may be required during peak periods. Preferred Skills: Experience with customs clearance processes (for international logistics). Understanding of Incoterms and import/export documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
