Job Description
Our Volex de Mexico Great Opening for Tijuana Vehicle Site 2. Leading company in the region since September 1993, dedicated to manufacturing, assembly, construction, design, marketing, import, export, and everything related to electronic circuits, electrical conduction cables, parts or components electrical appliances or computers, medical diagnostic equipment or other applications. Based on the growth plans, it is being incorporated to produce harnesses and connectors with application in the automotive sector, which represents a great opportunity for success for the plant and all of us who make-up the Volex team. Site Controller Position Objective: The site controller is responsible for and leads all aspects of the finance organization at the P2 site, reporting up to the TJ P1 site finance manager. They will act as a strategic business partner supporting all operational elements of the business. This role is responsible for the development and ownership of monthly and annual financial plans, implementing and upholding financial policies and procedures to ensure a proper control environment and compliance with IFRS, cost accounting oversight and management, financial reporting and analysis, driving process improvements and efficiencies, and cash management. Accountabilities & Responsibilities Have an active participation within plant culture & safety, environmental, security and quality requirements. Cost accounting functions, analysis, and Cost reports for the cost accounting site as directed by the plant controller. Act as strategic business partner, working closely with the senior management to deliver on future strategy and growth objectives. Consolidate monthly financial statements (P&L/ B/S, Cash Flow). Track key performance metrics and drive action items and process improvements to ensure company financial objectives are achieved. Manage forecasting models that effectively integrate quote backlog, sales, operational expenses, and working capital metrics. Actively participate in monthly management meetings and financial reporting, including presentation of variance analyses, Key Performance Indicators and other value drivers. Develop and implement enhanced financial control framework across the organization, supporting the business as it grows in size and complexity. Own standard costing and drive functional discipline across manufacturing operations in order to optimize profitability, working capital and cash flow. Responsible for maintenance and accuracy of inventory standards, actual quantities, and inventory account balances and cycle accounts of the plant inventory. Manage local accounting staff. Responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing team in order to build organizational capability and drive positive financial culture. Own and enhance internal control processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations, inventory controls, and delegation of authority adherence. Work closely with the management team to develop and execute an IT/data strategy that supports the implementation of an upgrade of the current Syteline ERP system to Epicor. Drive operational excellence by identifying and improving efficiency & productivity, supporting cost control efforts, and reducing working capital through a strong cash discipline throughout the organization. Develop and present financial business cases to justify major capital expenditures. Education & Experience Minimum Education: BS Accounting or Finance: MBA a plus or equivalent broad business experience. MBA preferred. 7 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing company. Experience with a lean / six sigma manufacturing environment preferred. Passionate about his/her own initiative and willingness to drive change. Target-based and results oriented mindset working towards quick and effective solutions in an entrepreneurial style. Strategic-analytic skills (e.g. Excel, databases) and experience with industry standard ERP systems. Strong presentation skills and the ability to translate and distill financial information into operational language and operating metrics. Strong written and oral communication skills is a coherent and logical communicator. Strategic thinker who is comfortable and effective working both at a strategic and tactical level and can roll up his/her sleeves and remain close to the operations.
