JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Hospitalist/Nocturnist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Traverse City, MI Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 12/01/2025 Open Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible; Night Shifts Required COVERAGE DATES 12/01/2025 Open PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatric Patients (via Med/Peds Hospitalists) Patient Volume/Census: Step-down and high-acuity inpatients Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: General Hospital Medicine; Step-down and ICU-level acuity FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center EMR System: Cerner Office Equipment Available: Standard hospitalist tools and monitoring equipment Specialty Backup Available: Excellent specialty support Support Staff Available: Physicians, APPs, and nursing teams Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Michigan License required (unlicensed presentations not accepted) Board: BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine DEA: Active DEA registration required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Experience: Hospitalist or Nocturnist experience preferred Other Qualifications: Flexible schedule; comfort managing diverse patient populations; telehealth experience not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage for Munson Medical Center Manage adult and pediatric patients collaboratively with Med/Peds hospitalists Respond to codes and rapid responses during assigned shifts Deliver high-quality, evidence-based inpatient care in a closed ICU and step-down unit environment Coordinate with specialists and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes Adhere to Munson Medical Center's policies, credentialing standards, and EMR documentation requirements Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous quality improvement COMMUNITY INFORMATION Traverse City, Michigan is a scenic northern Michigan community known for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere.
