JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: El Paso, TX Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 10/06/2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 10-hour shifts; 48 hours/day physician coverage; 20 hours/day APP coverage PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Volume/Census: 42,000 Annual ED Visits Case Mix: Trauma, Cardiology, Imaging, GI, OBGYN, Oncology, Ortho, Pulmonology, Urology, Stroke, Neuro FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 38 ED Beds (including 8 Fast Track) Trauma Level: Level II EMR System: Cerner Support Staff Available: Scribes (40 hours/day), APPs (20 hours/day) Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Imaging, Gastroenterology, OBGYN, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Urology, Stroke Center, Neuro, Cardiac Rehab Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES General emergency medicine procedures Stroke and trauma care JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active TX Medical License, TX DEA Board: ABEM BC/BE or Osteopathic Equivalent Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS Additional Requirements: 2 years of CME and case logs, immunization records (TB, Flu, Hep B, MMR, Varicella), SS card, driver's license, color photo, EMR in-person training before first shift, 8 hrs stroke and 8 hrs trauma CME annually DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency care in a high-volume trauma center Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary specialty teams Complete in-person EMR training before starting
