TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Twin Falls, Idaho, 83301! Pay Information $2,632 per week About The Position ID: 71628660 Shift: 12H Nights Nights Description: Unit Notes: L&D Beds11 L&D rooms that double as triage rooms we needed OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections?"2 CS Suites on the floor. 2 PACU Recovery Bays on the floor. " Triage bedsTypically 2 designated triage rooms. See 4-5 triage patients per day that go home. Does not include admitted patients. Postpartum beds17 Postpartum Beds Births per day? Month? Year?Variable, we average 5-6 deliveries/day, 150-180 delievers/monthDo you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?"Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines: 1:1 for Intra 1:1-3 for for PP/MB"Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)"BLS, ACLS, NRPAWHONN Fetal Monitoring- Intermediate or Advanced OR Certified in Fetal Monitoring (through NCC) "Common diagnoses/Types of patients30 wks, will stablize and shipout babies under 30 wks Experience or 'Must have' skills"Must Have: 2 years of L&D experience and some postpartum experienceMust be comfortable working in both L&D and PostpartumMust have the ability to work with high risk patients Must be able to circulate in c-sectionsWill NOT accept travelers with only Critical Access Hospital experience Will accept first time travelersPrefer somone who has worked in a similar size L&D and PP/MB deptPrefer Epic experience- please call out the last time they used Epic"Are RNs required to titrate drips?YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips"Pitocin, Mag, & InsulinPrefer Insulin gtt experience, but willing to train on this "Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?"Charge nurse- does not take a patient assignment unless absolutely necessary; They also try to staff the unit with a Resource Nurse when able. Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager have coverage on both shifts, but are not in house 24/7. On call, as needed "Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit?"CST in house 24/7CNAs in PP/MB; Job Duties: vitals, baths, ADLs, set a patient for, blood glucose, tasking, and more "OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?"OB in house during the day Monday-Friday, on-call at night; Neoatologist is onsite during the day and Neo APP coverage at night"Anesthesia in house 24/7?CRNA in house 24/7 for OBRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)RT available 24/7. RT will administer resp treatments and manage equipment, as needed Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?"Tele Techs in house. RNs are not expected to read and interpret their own tele strips, but should be able to identify a rhythm change, basic rhythms, and life threatening rhythms."EFM SystemEPIC- CPN, GE Connect Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?)"7-7ANM will make the schedule out 6 weeks at a time, and will consider block scheduling BUT does not guarentee it. Per policy staff and travelers cannot work more than 5 shifts in a row. Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling. "Weekend Requirements"EOWDay- Sat & Sun; Nights- Fri & Sat"Holiday RequirementsMay be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation Is there a call or standby requirement?May be called off, if needed. Floating Requirements?L&D and PP/MB are primary units. Can be floated throughout the hospital for sitter shifts when necessary. Travelers are typically the first to float for sitter shifts. Scrub Color/Dress code"RNs: Navy Blue ScrubsCNAs: Maroon Scrubs"Unit/Department specific orientation3 days of orientation with a preceptor in L&D and PP/MBAdditional Notes"Will be asked to freely float between L&D and PP/MB depending on staffing and census. The providers have great working relationships with the nursing staff. Level 3 NICU that supports 30 wks. Resource Nurse- does not take a patient assignment unless absolutely necessary, will assist with triage, caring for baby at deliveries, assisting staff, and more. Located in Southern Idaho and great for those who love nature and adventures.
