Pay Information $2,614 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid Nursing License required Certifications: BLS, PALS, BSSR Attestation Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience - Experience with Pediatric Patient Ratios - Charting System Experience required Description: Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required for this unit and all nursing units. The position involves caring for patients who may be sedated, intubated, or require tracheostomy care. Floated assignments to pediatric units may be required. Effective communication and customer service skills are essential. Competencies include managing acute and chronic renal failure, administering blood products, and performing arterial line management. Nurses will assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and intubation, as well as manage ventilated patients. Other critical skills include hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in pediatric dosage calculations and knowledge of the Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate compliance with infection control practices and isolation precautions. Monitoring and managing sedation, chest tubes, and IV administration are key responsibilities. The role involves working closely with interdisciplinary support services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, and children with various diagnoses, excluding complex heart cases.
