Job Description

Overview Central Region Transit Market Sector Leader role at HDR. This position partners with regional management and the Global Transit Market Sector Director to develop and execute transit and rail market strategies throughout the Central Region. Responsibilities Strategic Project and Program Leadership – provide leadership on multi-discipline projects and programs across market sectors and geographic areas. Include programmatic assistance on large capital programs, traditional project delivery, and alternative delivery. Include senior technical support, quality oversight, best practice development, project leadership, and principal-level program/project management. Strategic Planning and Program Growth – lead and drive program growth for the transit, intercity, and freight rail market sectors; support internal and external client relationships, recruiting and staff development, major pursuit coordination, capture planning, pre-proposal visits, proposal coordination with technical and marketing staff, presentations, and negotiations. Global Transit Market Sector Program Growth – assist the Global Transit Market Sector Director in setting the vision to expand services and win contracts within the market; support development and continuous improvement of the market and staff development. Required Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning and/or engineering with a majority in the market sector. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning or related field. If an engineer, maintain engineering registration. Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services. Experience in development and management of client relationships and program/project pursuits. Experience in staff development, recruiting, career path and professional growth. Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible market sector profile. Ability to collaborate with Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers. Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and active participation in the employee-owned culture. Preferred Qualifications 15 years in leading transit engineering and planning services for major transportation infrastructure development. Experience with major capital programs from planning through design and construction for private, federal, state, and local clients. Deep client relationships with transit/rail agencies or other private entities in the Central Region and proven success. Experience with transit funding program eligibility and requirements. Compensation and Location Typical starting pay range for this position varies by location. For Colorado: $162,205 - $210,430 annually; Minnesota: $174,342 - $249,060; Illinois: $174,342 - $249,060.
