Responsibilities Position located in the CVICU within a hospital setting Night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00pm to 7:30am, with every other weekend and some holiday coverage required Patient population includes those undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and use of advanced cardiac devices Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required Acuity adaptable unit with potential to float to other units or locations based on staffing needs Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions, including those receiving transplants and specialty medical devices Work collaboratively as an integral member of the cardiothoracic surgery and transplant team Travelers are the first to float when needed, and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations during the contract Strict telemetry exam standards apply and must be passed prior to starting; up to two attempts are permitted with additional steps required for a third attempt First time travelers may be accepted based on unit discretion Orientation provided according to department schedule, usually about one week Adherence to hospital-specific policies regarding time off requests and holiday rotations is required Requirements Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association Minimum of two years of acute care CVICU experience within the past three years Basic arrhythmia recognition required with ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start Experience and knowledge using NextStage CVVH machine required Permanent home address must be at least 50 miles from the hospital; local candidates are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-609763.
