LS20262 Part-time lecturer(s) for 2026 FACULTY OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES Life Sciences Bloemfontein Campus Main purpose of the job To lecture and develop academic material, and tutorials in your area of expertise. Create and update course content, including lecture notes, reading materials, and multimedia resources. Develop assessments such as formative and summative assessments, quizzes, and assignments. Facilitate practicals Main tasks Teaching, Learning & Assessment Administration Control and Organisation Subject field(s) Generic-based subjects Science I (Theory & practical) Chemistry I (Theory) Anatomy & Physiology I (Practicals) Anatomy & Physiology I (Theory) Chemistry I (Practicals) Microbiology I (theory) Microbiology I (Practicals) Nature of appointment ??: Appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects (teaching, learning and assessment and related administration). Remuneration: The hourly rate of payment depends on the part-time lecturers qualifications and experience. 2025 rates Junior Lecturer Lecturer Senior Lecturer Ass Prof /Prof R278 per hour R341 per hour R 417 per hour R571 per hour Lectures are mainly delivered in-person, but can be remotely done, if need be, or through a hybrid format. Both facilitation and assessment methods may be adjusted with little notice. Lecturers are expected to provide their own laptop computers. Successful candidates will need to teach on the designated CUT campus and be available during the scheduled class hours for their assigned subject, which may include evening sessions. Minimum and Desired Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience An appropriate B Tech / Honors, Masters or Doctorate degree (depending on the level of presentation) Previous lecturing experience will serve as a recommendation. Experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended.
