Financial Accountant

Introduction A vacancy has arisen for a finance staff member reporting to the Board of Directors of a healthcare facility . We are looking for a skilled and motivated candidate to join our dynamic team, playing a crucial role in managing the financial health of our hospital. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations of the hospital, including budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting. Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including billings, payroll, debtors, creditors, stock, fixed assets etc. Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and financial standards. Develop and monitor financial strategies to optimize hospital revenue and control costs. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve hospital operations and resource allocation. Collaborate with department heads to ensure proper financial planning and tracking for various projects and services. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management. Preparation of monthly management accounts Preparation and submission of VAT returns Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance, ensuring the hospital remains financially sound. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. CA (SA) would be preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a healthcare setting. Strong understanding of healthcare finance, sub-acute care, and day hospital operations. Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
