Senior Accountant IFRS

DESCRIPTION: The Accountant assists Accounting Supervisor and Country Controller in all accounting relevant responsibilities within assigned entities. The Accountant will be working from the Share Service Center in Mexico and will primary report functionally to the Regional Controllership Organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work on month end, quarter end and year end closing under IFRS following financial standards and procedures of the company. Complete IFRS reporting following corporate requests. Coordinate the annual audit activities with external auditors and prepare the statutory reporting including reconciliation between local GAAP (Brazil) or IFRS Prepare the local tax filing where required & corporate Income tax return, VAT return and all other applicable indirect tax declaration. Assist the Accounting Supervisor and Country Controller in the internal audit and SOX Compliance Control performance or request. Support any tax audits and government inspections when required. CORE COMPETENCIES: Strong computer/systems capability (SAP and Totvs) Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, IFRS, Tax principles, statutory and regulatory reporting principles Certified accountant is a plus (ACCA, CIMA, CMA) Consciousness of control and business ethics environment Meeting deadline, drive for results, problem solving
