Job Description

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Not specified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Previous experience in an approved medical facility preferred License: Current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy with a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Description: Ensures Physical Therapy services are administered and completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. Provides physical therapy evaluations and treatments, as well as associated clinical documentation. Maintains specific service delivery standards which address commitment to service, customer satisfaction, ongoing evaluation of customer expectations, integration with quality processes, communication and interaction standards, turnaround time, and information processing standards. Assesses patient strengths, limitations, and needs using standardized measurement, prediction, and evaluation tests. Develops and implements individualized short- and long-term treatment goals based on patient assessments. Administers and interprets clinical physical therapy services, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on patient response. Maintains accurate and timely patient treatment records, documenting progress and changes in electronic health systems. Ensures all documentation meets requirements of reimbursement and regulatory agencies, completed within two business days. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Participates in patient care conferences and collaborates with other healthcare professionals for coordinated care. Provides education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, safety, and self-care techniques. Participates in discharge planning and makes appropriate referrals, coordinating with vendors for durable medical equipment. Supervises and provides direction to Physical Therapist Assistants during treatment sessions. Maintains licensure requirements and pursues continuing education to stay current with professional standards. Engages in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care. Preferred experience includes experience with ergonomics, early symptom intervention, and industrial settings. Occasional travel for meetings is required.
