Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Construction) – Suffolk Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (DOE) Location: Suffolk The Opportunity A well-established construction contractor in Suffolk is looking to strengthen their Pre-Construction team with the addition of a skilled Quantity Surveyor (PQS level) . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a consultancy or contractor background who is confident working at the pre-construction and feasibility stage of projects. You will be involved from the very start of schemes, working on a diverse portfolio of projects with a particular focus on office-to-residential conversions and residential developments . This role offers the chance to influence design and cost decisions early in the project lifecycle, making a real impact on project success. What You'll Be Doing Preparing feasibility studies, cost plans, and detailed estimates. Leading procurement and tendering processes during pre-construction. Advising on value engineering and cost-saving opportunities. Supporting the design and project teams with commercial input. Producing accurate budgets and reports for senior management. Ensuring projects are financially viable before moving to site stage. What We're Looking For Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent). Experience working as a PQS or in a pre-construction / estimating role . Strong background in residential projects , ideally including office-to-residential conversions . Excellent commercial and analytical skills. Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, consultants, and project teams. Ambitious and proactive, with a focus on delivering results.
