Naval Technical Support Engineer

Overview Robert Walters Italy invites applicants for the Naval Technical Support Engineer role in Genova. This role focuses on providing IT support to ensure uninterrupted operations at the Genova office and across the fleet. It’s a hands-on position involving resolving day-to-day issues and developing skills toward more complex IT systems and naval connectivity. What you'll do Provide IT helpdesk support for users in the Genova office as well as crew members across the fleet. Handle incidents and service requests related to hardware, software, and applications. Manage user accounts, email setup, and permissions through Active Directory. Support connectivity troubleshooting (LAN, VPN, VSAT/Starlink). Document solutions and share knowledge with the team. Occasionally travel (1–2 times per year) on board vessels to perform specific IT support or installation activities. Assist senior engineers in IT projects and upgrades, gaining exposure to infrastructure, security, and cloud systems. What you bring Previous experience in IT helpdesk/technical support. Basic knowledge of Windows environments and networking. Problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with non-technical users. Experience in the marine/naval industry is a must Open to relocation to Genova, Italy, and occasional short business trips on board vessels.
