Purpose of the Job: The Competitiveness Manager will be in charge of the platform for: Ensuring the completeness of the reference library and its continuous monitoring versus QCD objectives Managing competitiveness plans on the platform’s products, reference libraries and reference solutions: driving during product development, implementation during tender preparation, monitoring during project execution Supporting pre-tendering / tendering activities and start of projects with reference libraries. Collecting ROE on relevant Projects Key Accountabilities: Competitiveness on Ref Lib Support the Product/or Solution manager in building, driving and permanently challenging the Reference Library on QCD aspects: allocate and follow the cost target achievement per contributor, update the Ref Lib with cost improvement confirmed Coordinate, on behalf of the Product/or Solution manager, competitiveness action plans with all métiers: build and present business cases of new competitiveness actions Support the Product /or Solution manager on demand for any costing activity (including quick costing at pre-tendering phase …) Prepare and present Ref Lib reviews (with Competitiveness Director and Ref Lib manager), according to the standards and the calendar defined Competitiveness on Tenders and Projects On support to the Platform cost manager (when existing) Support the Platform at pre-tendering and tendering stage in assessing on demand quick costing, target costs, target allocation to stakeholders (“top down” approach) using Ref Lib costing data Hold reviews with bid cost managers to check QCD offering is aligned with Ref Lib Monitor the gaps between Ref Lib and Tender solution, and propose new competitiveness action plan to reach the target cost Support to Projects on cost analysis, competitiveness action plan (task force, assessment, Design to cost activities…) Return of Experience Participate in analysis/benchmark of competition offering with Platform Market & Portfolio director In coordination with the Platform members, ensure that the ROE of projects is integrated into the Ref Lib (cost, planning, etc) and reorient action plan if needed Performance Measurements: Progress of Competitiveness action plan: volume/number of competitiveness actions proposed, progress of actions Cost monitoring of Ref Libs, and delivery on time Quality of Reference Library presentation Educational Requirements Mandatory: Engineering degree and/or Business School Experience Mandatory: Minimum 5 years of experience in industry Desirable: Experience in Railway industry Knowledgeable of Costing, or Engineering, or Sourcing in similar industry Experience in Design To Cost Competencies & Skills Technical: Project Management and / or Industry background Ability to recognize product and associated costs, and understand operational flows (engineering, manufacturing, industrial, etc) Understanding of basic enterprise internal processes: Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Quality and their interfaces… Sufficient awareness of financial rules and contractual aspects (bonds & guarantees, …) Behavioral: Results and data driven, Design to Cost spirit Rigorous, able to give structure to a collective team work Leadership to achieve results and benefits Collaborative management, facilitating team working, able to drive a collective team work Comfortable in an international and a multi-cultural environment Ability to deliver on-time Transparency, autonomy, anticipation, initiative, reactivity An agile, inclusive and responsible culture is the foundation of our company where diverse people are offered excellent opportunities to grow, learn and advance in their careers.
