Electrical Offshore Platform Engineer

Overview Electrical Diagnostic & Offshore Platform Engineer role at Prysmian. Prysmian is a global cabling solutions provider leading the energy transition and digital transformation. We are seeking an Engineer to join the Diagnostic and Offshore Platforms section of the Installation Engineering Department in Milan HQ. The position involves designing cable installation on offshore structures such as offshore platforms and wind turbines, and preparing all relevant technical documentation (descriptions of procedures, drawings, technical specifications to define subcontractor work, etc.). It also includes fault localization on cables and designing electrical tests on site at the end of installation with corresponding technical documentation. Responsibilities Design electrical tests at the end of cable installation. Design and execute fault location on power cables on site. Design cable installation on offshore platforms and offshore wind turbines. Collaborate with Purchasing, System Design and Project Management departments. Work on site for short periods for fault location activities. Interface with Prysmian clients and subcontractors on technical matters. Support tender stages and execution phases by providing inputs to proposal engineers and site teams installing cables on offshore structures. Qualifications Fluent in English. Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or similar. Preferably 1 year of experience in offshore or technical environments, or strong interest in the sector. Availability to travel for short periods on short notice. Genuine interest in technical matters, hands-on approach, good communication skills, and ability to work in teams. Problem-solving skills, target orientation, pragmatism, and ability to manage priorities in coordination with Management.
