About The Role As a Senior Data Scientist, you will manage and execute local data science initiatives to improve productivity, including data availability enhancement, process modeling using ML tools, and digital twins. You will identify local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local teams, DD&T, Engineering, Quality, and global Data Science. Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigation, yield optimization, process monitoring, and support internal and/or external functional/multifunctional teams in troubleshooting and problem-solving Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in batch data, providing valuable insights into process variability, process performance, and product quality Support and drive the Manufacturing Science department activities, and site initiatives with advanced data analysis and promote the use of off-the-shelf data analysis software Drive and support local digital data science initiatives, expand and unlock new knowledge for effective process monitoring and process improvement optimizations Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigation, yield optimization, and process monitoring with advanced data analysis Own and maintain Manufacturing Science/Manufacturing related datasets Manage investigations and support internal and/or external functional/multifunctional teams in troubleshooting and problem-solving Translate business problems into opportunities and effectively communicate findings with stakeholders Gather and identify local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local teams, DD&T, Engineering, Quality, and global GMS data science Support and participate in global/functional/local GMS data science community Support in maintaining the GMP archive for the group, including responsibility for document withdrawal and destruction Responsible for day-to-day operation of local data science function, covering all data science levels and related technologies What you bring to Takeda Master or PhD degree in technical/scientific education, preferably pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or pharma-process engineering Previous experience in Data Analysis (3 years) Proven experience in statistics, data analysis, or equivalent academic experience/course record, and proven knowledge of six-sigma and DMAIC methodology Good written and spoken Italian and English mandatory Mathematical and Statistical Knowledge Experience in coding skills, preferably in Python/R Proficiency in database languages (SQL), understanding of data models and databases Expertise and experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning, Big Data, and Digital (preferred) Knowledge of plasma fractionation process (preferred) Capabilities to translate business needs into data analytics concepts and vice versa Strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to serve patients, build reputation, and trust Good understanding of industry, scientific, and data science trends and market conditions to develop solutions enhancing compliance and quality of life for patients Good communication and presentation skills, as well as influencing skills What Takeda can offer you We want our employees to succeed in everything they do - at work, at home, and in the community.
