Geotechnical Engineer

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer Location: Rome, Italy Contract Type: Long-Term Contract About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Rome , contributing to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects including tunnels, dams, highways, and urban developments . This is a long-term opportunity for professionals passionate about geotechnical design, site investigation, and ground engineering in complex geological settings. Key Responsibilities: Conduct geotechnical site investigations and interpret soil and rock data. Design and analyze foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and underground works. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure projects. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation in Italian. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout project lifecycles. Ensure compliance with Italian and EU engineering standards and safety regulations. Support construction teams with geotechnical advice during execution phases. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably on infrastructure projects. Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, Rocscience). Strong understanding of Italian geotechnical codes and construction practices. Fluent in Italian (spoken and written); English is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Eligibility to work in Italy. Bonus: Experience in hydraulic engineering or working on water-related infrastructure such as dams, canals, or flood protection systems.
