Key Responsibilities Analyze bid opportunities and vet project viability. Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to assess scope. Interpret civil drawings, specs, and addenda. Prepare detailed cost estimates based on takeoffs, historical data, and vendor input. Use tools like Bluebeam, Agtek, and HCSS HeavyBid for takeoffs and estimating. Present bids to clients and coordinate with internal stakeholders for seamless project handoff. Maintain strong relationships with clients to promote repeat business and referrals. Track industry trends, costs, and innovations to inform competitive bids. Qualifications 10 years of estimating experience with self-performing Heavy Civil/Highway contractors. Proven success estimating earthwork, mass grading, asphalt, concrete paving, and civil structures. Proficiency with estimating tools (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, Bluebeam). Experience with DOT and municipal projects highly preferred. Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
