Overview Senior Backend Engineer (remote, UTC-3 to UTC3) — Join to apply for the Senior Backend Engineer (remote, UTC-3 to UTC3) role at Checkly. This is a fully remote role within UTC-3 to UTC3. Checkly helps engineers build reliable products by unifying testing, monitoring and observability. OpenTelemetry, Playwright, and Monitoring as Code are our foundation for unifying performance and reliability. What You'll Do Harden and expand our backend. Build out new features and expand existing features to scale the backend platform to meet growing demand. Work on a backend stack that includes Hapi.js, Golang and an AWS-based monitoring infrastructure. Collaborate in a distributed, async-first environment with a focus on high-quality documentation and product quality. What You Should Have Deep experience building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment, ideally with TypeScript. (Go would be a plus.) Ability to have business impact and prefer fast feedback in a startup environment. Experience working in a growing company with experienced founders. Strong communication in spoken and written English, with autonomy for remote work and collaboration with colleagues. Self-motivated, autonomous, and collaborative in a remote work environment; enjoys learning new things and helping others. Passion for building software and learning quickly.
