Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant – manufacturing background is essential. Your new company A well-established manufacturer, part of a larger group are looking to appoint a Cost Accountant. This is a unique opportunity to shape the costing function during a period of transformation and investment. Your new role Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll take ownership of product costing, margin analysis, and commercial reporting. You’ll work closely with purchasing, sales, and production teams to ensure accurate costing and support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Costing of new and existing products, including promotional pricing Maintain and update standard costing models Analyse product mix, yield variances, and margins Produce weekly/monthly profitability, stock movement, and labour reports Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit processes Liaise with purchasing and supply chain to ensure accurate material, packaging, and transport costs Provide commercial insight and “what if” analysis to support growth and profitability Oversee credit control and customer rebate calculations Support the wider finance team and contribute to group-wide costing system improvements What you'll need to succeed Strong experience in cost accounting within an FMCG or manufacturing environment Excellent Excel skills Ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commercial mindset What you'll get in return Permanent contract Competitive salary Up to 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Stand-alone role Enhanced benefits post probation What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
