Building Control Surveyor

What's the Opportunity This role supports Ridge's delivery of Building Regulations compliance across a range of sectors and project types. It involves working closely with design teams to interpret regulatory requirements, advise on compliance strategies, and contribute to quality assurance throughout the design and construction process. The role is embedded within Ridge's regulatory consultancy discipline and plays a key part in supporting project teams with practical, design-integrated compliance advice. What you need to do to be effective in this role Review technical drawings, specifications, and construction details for compliance. Support project teams in identifying and resolving regulatory risks. Contribute to internal guidance, templates, and best practice resources. Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure coordinated compliance. Deliver CPD and training sessions to internal teams where required. Skills and experience you need to have for this role Strong working knowledge of Building Regulations and their practical application. Background in architecture, building control, or technical design. Experience supporting project teams through design and delivery phases. Confident communicator with the ability to advise across disciplines. Comfortable working independently and as part of a national team. Team Context: The role forms part of Ridge's specialist Building Regulations team, which supports project delivery across multiple offices. It interacts regularly with architectural, project management, and quality assurance teams, and contributes to Ridge's broader compliance and risk management offer.
