Job Description

Invasive Species Technician (73202) - Canada Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Locate remote job locations using maps, GPS, and location data. 2. Identify invasive plant species and document findings. 3. Perform herbicide application, manual vegetation removal, seeding, weed whipping or other form of control. 4. Ensure program execution is completed on time and as planned. 5. Perform safety documentation as required. 6. Perform basic equipment repair and design. 7. May travel between various locations in Saskatchewan and Alberta. 8. May be assigned other labour duties as required. Knowledge and Skills: 1. Ability to function at early morning hours. 2. Organized, flexible and creative. 3. Proficient with computers, data entry, and consumer electronics. 4. Good in written and oral communication. 5. Ability to handle customer interactions and public speaking. 6. Knowledge in spanish and Indigenous language is an asset. Education and Experience Requirements: 1. Saskatchewan Pesticide applicator license 2. Drivers license with experience driving a truck, trailer experience is an asset. 3. Confidence in driving a truck and commitment to skill improvement in the workplace. 4. Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Working Hours: Work hours will be between 5:00am - 7:00pm. Total hours per week varies between 35-60 hours per week with 2 varied days off. The schedule will vary according to weather and season. Wage and Benefits: $25.00/hour Group Medical Plan.
