Our client is looking for an energetic and reliable Fry Cook to join their kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing high-quality food, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring every customer enjoys a great dining experience. Minimum requirements Matric (or equivalent) preferred Proven experience as a Fry Cook, Kitchen Assistant, or in a similar fast-food or takeaway environments Knowledge of food preparation, frying techniques, and kitchen safety standards Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure Commitment to food quality and hygiene Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Skills required Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy kitchen environment Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices Duties and responsibilities Prepare, season, and cook food items — primarily fried dishes such as fish, chips, and other menu items Operate and maintain deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Monitor cooking times and food quality to ensure consistency and proper presentation Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, fryers, and food preparation areas Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries and reporting shortages or spoilage Dispose of waste properly and ensure oil and fryer maintenance schedules are followed Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy periods Remuneration Negotiable IMPORTANT: Applications close 17 October 2025 Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted No social media messages / comments will be responded to
