Job Description
RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway RAMS Engineer to join its office in ROME, GENOA, NAPLES OR MILAN within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division. Mission The RAMS Engineer focuses on contributing to the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of transportation systems. You will support the implementation of RAMS processes, data analysis, and collaboration with project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Support RAMS Process Management: assist in implementing and coordinating RAMS processes across project phases, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Conduct Risk Analysis and Assessments: perform hazard and safety risk evaluations using methodologies like FMECA, event tree, and fault tree analysis. Manage Documentation and Deliverables: develop and review safety plans, hazard logs, and maintain accurate documentation. Collaborate with Stakeholders: work with project teams, suppliers, operators, and authorities, participating in safety meetings. Testing and Commissioning: ensure safety requirements are met during testing phases, reviewing test plans for system reliability and safety. Reporting and Communication: update project managers and stakeholders on RAMS activities and safety issues. Education Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering. Qualifications Proficiency in RAMS analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, ETA, and RBD. Knowledge of standards like EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508, and relevant safety certification requirements. Experience with risk and safety assessment tools like hazard logs, risk matrices, ALARP principles, and SIL assessments. Familiarity with software tools such as ReliaSoft, RAM Commander, MATLAB, Simulink, and FRACAS. Competencies Strategic thinking and big-picture perspective.
