Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Supervision Ensure the maintenance team upholds the highest standards of safety, discipline, and performance. Supervise and inspect all maintenance and repair work performed by technicians. Manage the maintenance teams daily operations to align with company goals and production priorities. Monitor and address time management, attendance, and task completion of all maintenance personnel. Maintenance Planning & Execution Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management (CMM) system. Oversee and ensure the execution of preventative maintenance in line with operational schedules. Conduct inspections and audits to maintain equipment reliability and plant uptime. Supervise contractors and suppliers performing on-site maintenance work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Resources & Inventory Management Manage and control spare parts inventory and procurement of critical spares. Liaise with stores and suppliers to report on stock levels and reordering needs. Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and power tools used by the maintenance team. Project & Budget Management Manage maintenance-related projects, ensuring timely completion within budget. Track and control the maintenance budget and associated expenditures. Prepare and present maintenance performance reports and KPI metrics to management. Other Equipment uptime and reliability. Maintenance cost control vs. budget. Safety compliance and incident-free operations. Team productivity and skills development. Adherence to planned maintenance schedules. REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 Be a trade tested artisan National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential). Minimum of 5 years experience in a maintenance department within an FMCG environment (non-negotiable). At least 3 years supervisory experience, leading a team of maintenance technicians or artisans. Proven knowledge of fillers, RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems, boilers, chillers, and compressors. Working knowledge of PLC systems (advantageous). Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems, root cause analysis, and machine reliability principles. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and planning abilities. High attention to detail, with a proactive and hands-on approach. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight
