Technical Assistant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform a variety of plant operations and tasks to build practical experience. Assist with monitoring machine operations and ensure proper functioning throughout the production process. Conduct routine maintenance checks and assist in the execution of maintenance schedules. Identify, troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical and electrical issues, escalating more complex problems to senior technicians. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the setup and calibration of machines for production runs. Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards. Document machine performance and maintenance activities accurately. Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge of machinery. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and equipment. Engage in teamwork to foster a collaborative and efficient work culture. REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 (with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy) N1 to N3 TVET Certificate in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering or similar technical qualification (an added advantage) Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, but we welcome entry-level candidates with a passion for technology. Have an understanding of basic machinery operation and maintenance. Ability to perform minor fault finding and repairs on equipment. Have problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills for clear collaboration with team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to personal and professional growth. Be willing to work on a fixed term contract. RUMUNERATION R8,000 To R12,000 (Negotiable depending on qualification, experience & skill)
