Job Description

We are seeking a professional Hotel Duty Manager to oversee front office and food & beverage operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless service, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will act as the hotels representative on duty, managing both guest-facing and back-of-house operations. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Minimum 35 years experience in hotel operations, with exposure to both Front Office and F&B operations in a 4/5-star property Previous supervisory or duty management experience in hotels or luxury resorts Strong knowledge of Opera PMS or similar systems and F&B operations Hospitality qualification or diploma advantageous Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest issues efficiently South African citizen with a valid ID Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays Key Competencies 🔹 Guest-Centric Leadership Ensures smooth, luxury-standard service across Front Office and F&B departments 🔹 Operational Precision Monitors workflows, resolves issues, and maintains service excellence 🔹 Team Management Supervises, motivates, and develops staff across multiple departments 🔹 Problem Solving & Decision Making Handles operational challenges and guest concerns effectively 🔹 Collaboration & Communication Coordinates with housekeeping, kitchen, and management teams for seamless operations Duties & Responsibilities Act as Hotel Manager on Duty, overseeing Front Office and F&B operations during assigned shifts Ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes and manage reservations and guest services Supervise, mentor, and support front office and F&B teams, maintaining high service standards Address and resolve guest complaints or requests promptly and professionally Coordinate with housekeeping, kitchen, and other departments to ensure seamless operations Monitor service delivery, ensure adherence to SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives Oversee cashiering, billing, and audit procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance Support staff training and development to maintain operational excellence Uphold hotel standards of professionalism, grooming, and guest interaction Live and promote the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Package on Offer Basic salary (TBA) 50/50 contribution to Pension Company contribution to medical aid Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with proven Front Office and F&B management experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan Lead operations with confidence, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and uphold the President Hotels reputation as Cape Towns most loved luxury destination.
