As the Financial Manager, youll be based on-site at one of the groups flagship operations, reporting directly to the CFO. Youll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, driving operational cost control, and partnering with mine leadership to optimise production performance. This is not a "desk-only" role - its a hands-on, commercially involved position in a business that values initiative, insight, and leadership. Youll be embedded at the heartbeat of the mines operations, working closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure financial visibility and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead the financial management and reporting function for the mine site, ensuring accurate month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements. Manage costing, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring full visibility of production and operational costs. Partner with mine and plant management to monitor cost drivers, production efficiency and financial performance. Oversee and guide the finance team on site, ensuring sound controls and adherence to financial policies. Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory, and corporate governance requirements. Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to operational teams. Manage capex planning, tracking, and reporting for key expansion or maintenance projects. Oversee inventory management, procurement controls, and supplier reconciliations. Drive internal audits, risk management, and system improvements across finance processes. Prepare and present monthly management packs and performance commentary to Head Office. Support the Financial Director with board and EXCO reporting, and participate in strategy discussions. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations. Job Experience & Skills Required: CA(SA) qualification is essential (CIMA qualification or progress advantageous) Minimum 58 years experience in the mining sector, ideally within production or processing environments Proven experience in financial management, cost control, and operational finance Solid understanding of mine site operations, cost structures, and production metrics Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Pronto, or similar) and advanced Excel skills Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing small to medium-sized finance teams Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Hands-on, resilient, and comfortable operating in a remote, fast-paced mining environment Strong business acumen with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset Apply now!
