Barista

The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating new opportunities for Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. We are seeking energetic, skilled, and guest-focused Baristas to deliver exceptional coffee and beverage service in a luxury environment. The ideal candidates will have recent experience in hotels, upmarket restaurants, or cafés, excellent product knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume operation. Experience & Requirements South African citizen with a valid ID (non-negotiable) At least 2 years Barista experience in a hotel, upmarket restaurant, or café within the last 2 years No employment gaps longer than 5 months unless valid reasons are clearly provided Matric certificate (Grade 12) required Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso machines, grinders, and milk texturing Knowledge of teas, smoothies, juices, and specialty beverages advantageous Ability to work under pressure while maintaining service excellence Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Professional, well-groomed, and reliable Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays Team player with a guest-first mindset Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and serve high-quality coffees, teas, and other beverages to hotel standards Deliver excellent guest service, creating a welcoming and professional experience at the coffee station/bar Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the work area at all times Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and consumables, and report shortages promptly Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations Handle guest queries and complaints in a professional manner Assist colleagues in the F&B team during peak service times Important Application Notes Applications that do not meet the critical requirements (South African citizenship, Matric, recent hotel/upmarket restaurant or café experience, and valid employment history) will not be considered Ensure your CV is 100% updated About the Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination.
