Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Job Title: Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Urgent Care Centre Location: Leicester Contract Type: Locum Working Pattern: MondaySunday, 1012 hour shifts (flexible rota available) Role Summary We are seeking experienced Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to support our busy Urgent Care Centre in Leicester . The successful candidate will work autonomously to assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients presenting with a wide range of urgent care needs. This role requires safe clinical decision-making, effective prescribing, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Provide frontline urgent care to patients presenting with acute and minor illnesses or injuries. Undertake clinical assessments, investigations, diagnosis, and treatment within scope of practice. Prescribe medications safely in line with clinical guidelines and governance frameworks. Manage, prioritise, and organise workload effectively during high patient flow. Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure safe, high-quality care. Contribute to service delivery by ensuring documentation is accurate and timely. Escalate appropriately for complex or high-risk cases. Requirements Registered Nurse / Paramedic / Pharmacist / Allied Health Professional with MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent). Current NMC/HCPC/GPhC registration . Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300). Proven experience working in urgent care, A&E, or primary care . Ability to work autonomously and make safe, evidence-based decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Contract Details Shift Pattern: MondaySunday, 1012 hour shifts (rota available). Location: Leicester Urgent Care Centre. Competitive locum rates available, dependent on experience. Flexible contract length and start dates.
