About the Client AI-driven healthcare startup revolutionizing cancer diagnostics by building intelligent, scalable systems that empower pathologists with faster, more accurate decision-making. Core platform integrates clinical decision support tools with a laboratory information system (LIS) tailored for modern pathology workflows. Backed by domain experts and cutting-edge research, our mission is to improve patient outcomes through precision medicine. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs using FastAPI to power clinical and lab data systems Build dynamic, intuitive, and accessible frontend interfaces using ReactJS for pathologists and lab staff Develop robust data pipelines and integrate MongoDB for both structured and unstructured medical data storage Collaborate closely with data scientists, pathologists, and UX designers to deliver AI-powered clinical decision support tools Ensure all systems are HIPAA-compliant and meet SOC 2 Type II standards for security and reliability Participate in Agile sprints, contribute to code reviews, and support continuous integration and delivery workflows Maintain high availability and scalability in clinical environments, leveraging AWS services when needed Write thorough unit and integration tests for backend and frontend components Contribute to system architecture discussions, technical documentation, and overall product strategy What You Bring 3 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on FastAPI, MongoDB, and ReactJS Solid understanding of RESTful API design, asynchronous programming, and database schema design for document stores Proven experience in building modern SPAs (Single Page Applications) using React and component-based architecture Familiarity with healthcare standards and secure data handling practices (e.g., HIPAA, PHI, FHIR) Experience deploying and monitoring applications in a cloud environment (preferably AWS) Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows Availability to maintain a working hours overlap from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM EDT Nice to have Experience with AI/ML integration in clinical workflows Background in medical imaging or pathology systems AWS certifications or relevant cloud technology credentials Upper-Intermediate Legal & Hiring Information Exadel is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion across minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Please note: this job description is not exhaustive.
