Our open innovation approach supports the energy and digital transition market. Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will design UI, main control unit and motor control electronics, with in-depth knowledge of electric machines. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and testing the hardware that powers our next-generation appliances. A fundamental knowledge of digital circuits, microcontrollers, and analog circuit design is essential. Experience in the home appliance industry or a similar regulated environment is highly advantageous. Responsibilities Design and development of hardware for electronic boards used in appliances and similar applications. Participation in project homologation phases, including electrical testing in laboratories. Create and maintain product documentation including schematics, calculations, and test reports. Analyze customer requirements and define HW architecture and requirements, starting from internal system requirements and architecture. Design analog and digital circuits, including integration of microcontrollers. Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers for board bring-up and system integration. Create and execute test and validation plans to ensure hardware robustness and reliability. Debug and resolve complex hardware/software interaction issues using lab tools. Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical documentation. Contribute to hardware selection, risk assessment, and quality assurance activities. Technical Skills & Qualifications Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hardware development for microcontroller-based boards (8–32 bit). In-depth knowledge of electric machines and control techniques. Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design. Experience with 32-bit microcontroller integration. Proficiency with EDA tools (e.g., CAPTURE CIS, Altium Designer, Cadence/OrCAD). Experience with simulation tools (e.g., PSPICE, MICROCAP, MATLAB/SIMULINK, SPICE, PLECS). Competence on safety and EMC standards (e.g., IEC 60335, EN55014-x, EN61000-x-x). Experience in DFMEA and Design for Manufacturing/Testability methodologies. Knowledge of thermal management for power components. Experience with touch and UI applications. Requirement and use case definition and verification. Experience in performing the electrical sizing of circuits, including power, current, and thermal dissipation calculations, as well as component selection based on project requirements and safety standards. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Availability to travel to clients and company sites. Preferred Experience Develop SMPS and DC/DC converters of medium-low power. Design hardware for touch interfaces and color displays (TFT) with touch screen. Design wireless circuits (BLE, WiFi, etc.). Familiarity with EMI-EMC topics and resolution techniques. HW development for motor control boards with power ratings up to 300W. Soft Skills Strong analytical skills and methodical approach to troubleshooting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proactive team player with effective collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and reliability. Adaptable to new technologies and regulatory requirements.
