Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year A bit about us: A Commercial and Residential Real Estate Investment and Management Group in Cleveland is looking to hire an Accounting Manager/Senior Property Accountant. This is an on-site position, and a remote or hybrid option is not currently offered. This is a new position due to growth. The ideal candidate should have experience with Real Estate, Property Accounting, and Yardi or MRI. Experience with CAM reconciliations is a nice skill to have. Why join us? Full-time position full benefits health dental vision PTO competitive annual bonus Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic Senior Property Accountant/Accounting Manager to join our vibrant team in the Real Estate industry within their property accounting team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our diverse property portfolio, including mixed-use properties, apartment units, and multifamily properties. You will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties including apartments, mixed-use, and multifamily units. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes. Review and analyze property and portfolio level operating statements. Prepare and review monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate and complete annual audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Prepare budget forecasts and report variances. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with established procedures. Utilize property management software such as Yardi and MRI to process financial transactions and generate financial reports. Train and mentor junior staff in property accounting best practices. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in property accounting, preferably in the mortgage industry. Proficient in property management software such as Yardi and MRI. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Solid experience in all aspects of property accounting including mixed-use, apartments, and multifamily units. Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records. High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently, with little supervision, as well as in a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
