The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing DWDM networks to ensure top-tier performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will manage complex network projects from inception to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors. About The Client Arelion, a leading IP services provider, operates a vast global network and a 100% organically grown fiber backbone. They offer dedicated internet access, IP addresses, cloud connect, ethernet services, and optical fiber solutions to sectors like financial services, government, and gaming, ensuring reliability and scalability for major brands. Responsibilities Lead DWDM network implementation projects, overseeing all phases of the network build Develop comprehensive project plans, defining timelines, milestones, and resource requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network planners, field engineers, and vendors Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies Ensure project completion within established scope, budget, and timeline Coordinate with engineering, planning, and colocation teams for site-related requirements (space, power, network management, DCN ports, and transport backbone capacity) Design and configure DWDM network solutions based on customer and business requirements Deploy, configure, and test DWDM systems, including hardware and software components Diagnose and troubleshoot DWDM network issues, ensuring rapid resolution Perform network performance optimization and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network designs, test plans, and configuration guides Generate and present project status reports and updates to stakeholders Ensure all network changes adhere to established change management processes Act as the primary point of contact during network implementation Coordinate with vendors for procurement, service delivery, and troubleshooting Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field Proven track record in DWDM network design, implementation, and project delivery Hands-on experience with DWDM technologies and equipment from vendors like Ciena and Infinera Strong understanding of optical transmission principles and technologies Familiarity with network protocols and performance management tools Solid project management experience with large-scale network deployments Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Additional Information At Tietoevry, we believe in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
