Flight Simulator Technician

This is an Internship for a Simulator Technician at CAE, based in Sesto Calende, Lombardy, Italy, working on advanced level simulators that train the next generation of pilots and keep the experts up to date. The role offers variety across a range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge and start your career from zero. The schedule runs on a 24/7 pattern: 4 Days On & 4 Days Off, alternating Day and Night Shifts (4 Days Shift 4 Days Off 4 Nights Shift 4 Days Off, recurring year-round). Day Shift: 07:00–19:00 (11 paid hours 1 hour unpaid lunch). Night Shift: 19:00–07:00 (11 paid hours 1 hour unpaid dinner). Lunch or dinner on duty is provided by the Company through the internal canteen. Italian version below Responsibilities / Responsabilità Prepare the Simulation Training Equipment for daily operation for each training device based on the published monthly schedules. Load appropriate exercise scenarios and complete Journey Logs at the start and finish of scheduled training sessions. Receive training and perform simple assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory; participate in projects that may be experimental or design-oriented. Solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems. During the internship, you will learn to do the job and grow your skills in these areas. Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated systems. Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems; use the maintenance management system to record activities. Assist with pre-flight and post-flight operations, visual alignments, and routine testing (QTG). Support refurbishments, hardware modifications, and adherence to CAE quality management; provide customer service and handle logistics and administrative tasks. Qualifications / Qualifiche College Diploma in Electronics / Mechatronics / Aeronautics / Mechanics (Diploma is mandatory; hands-on experience is preferred, especially if formal training is limited). Willingness to work on flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules. Basic ability to interpret system prints and schematics; basic knowledge of test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.). Basic knowledge of analog and digital theory; computer literacy (PC and/or system architecture). Soldering and circuit board repair skills; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
