Overview 2nd shift – Production Supervisor - Piedmont, SC. Pay: $20-$25 per hour, negotiable depending on experience. This is a Manufacturing Production Supervisor position working for an automotive supplier in Piedmont, SC. You will be leading a team of operators and assisting around the plant on a variety of machines to meet production schedules, assist in material logistics flow to ensure lines are always equipped with parts, assist in shipping/receiving scheduling, reporting, entering inbound and outbound product, parts, racks. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the 2nd shift production lines in an automotive manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production, maintaining high quality standards, meeting customer requirements for cost, delivery, while leading a team to reach production targets and fostering a safe work environment, all while adhering to company manufacturing practices and procedures. Key Focus Production Leadership: Leading and motivating a team of production workers to achieve daily production goals, including quality metrics and output targets. Quality Assurance: Monitoring and ensuring that all products meet quality standards, identifying and addressing quality issues promptly. Safety Compliance: Maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing safety procedures and addressing potential hazards. Performance Management: Coaching and developing team members, providing feedback and addressing performance concerns. Production Planning: Scheduling and coordinating production activities to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines. Problem-solving: Identifying and resolving production issues, including equipment malfunctions, process bottlenecks, and quality discrepancies. Continuous Improvement: Implementing and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs. Communication: Communicating effectively with other departments, including engineering, quality, and maintenance, to ensure smooth production flow. Reporting: Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to management. Responsibilities Application of Quality to a product or service in a systematic approach. Ability to lead and support a team of Machine Operators. Assist in working on production machines when required to meet production goals while ensuring all other duties are being performed. Participate in the development and review of project documentation. Direction and support for procurement activities. Application of testing and inspection activities to a system or service. Assessment of systems to identify deficiencies and participate in resolution of issues found. Will be responsible for ensuring the machine is operating properly and preventative maintenance protocols are followed. Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. Transport raw materials to production workstations. Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities. Training on-site will be provided but a basic understanding of an automotive assembly line, troubleshooting, and problem-solving is the minimum requirement. Motivate your team to always achieve hourly, daily and weekly production goals. Work with management effectively to ensure NRTC best interest and goals are always 1st. Qualifications Must know Microsoft Office and basic computer functions to learn company’s software. 3 years of manufacturing experience. Must have 3 years’ experience using a sit-down forklift (preferably reach) in a manufacturing environment. Experience stacking racks would be a benefit. Experience with automotive automation machinery. Experience working with yellow robots. Experience leading a team of workers in a production manufacturing environment. Experience adhering to safety protocols and training and ensure your team are in compliance. Must be responsible and dependable. Ability and experience looking at reports and using them effectively to manage shift and team to meet daily goals in a safe and compliant manner. Experience and capable of multi-tasking, making independent decisions and lead team of the same ensuring you are following the direction from management, production schedules, safety compliance, and other areas.
