Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Navy blue scrubs required Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications are some of the patient conditions encountered. Candidates must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Experience in advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols, is essential. Candidates should be familiar with the administration of antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, a-line, CVP, EVD, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols. Experience with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPap/Cpap, and oxydependent patients is required. Nurses with large-scale adult progressive care unit experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to excel in this environment. The average patient load is three high-acuity patients. No weekend block requests are available. A competency test is required within 48 hours.
