Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Valid State License required, can accept pending licenses Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Must adhere to float policy - Must have charge experience Description: The Neuro ICU is a critical care unit providing intensive management to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Typical cases include central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and central nervous system infections. A patient ratio of 2 is maintained. Scheduling requires every other weekend and every other holiday. Flexibility to offer 36 or 48 hours per week. Longer assignments may be available. Pending NIH stroke certification may be submitted. Tracking and management of dysrhythmias, ventilated patient care, and infection prevention skills are essential. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams. The unit accommodates a 12-bed capacity with a daily census around 10 patients. All travelers will be required to float within their scope of practice. Nursys verification is required for submission. This position requires strong communication and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. A BSN is preferred.
