TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Charleston, West Virginia, 25304! Pay Information $1,875 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years License: WV or Compact RN License required Certifications: BLS, Chemotherapy Administration preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience Central Line Draws Ports Blood Administration PCA Pumps Bone Marrow Aspiration Assist Pleurx Chest Tubes Description: The position involves caring for adult patients battling cancer. You will also provide palliative care and family education on oncological processes. The unit has a blend of medical and surgical patients, including urology and telemetry clients. You are expected to float within your scope to meet facility needs. Staffing ratios are 4-5 patients to 1 nurse during the day and 5-6 patients to 1 nurse at night. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, along with floating to like units. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Chemotherapy administration experience is preferred but not mandatory. An ability to manage care procedures, including blood and fluid administration, is essential. You must be prepared to handle various medical situations like acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis. Preventing and managing neutropenic precautions and addressing symptoms such as nausea and vomiting is also part of the role. Documentation is required for all nursing tasks, and familiarity with Cerner is a plus. The unit consists of 29 beds with an average daily census of 24 patients. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, to support patient care.
