CNC Turner

DK Recruitment are working with a world-renowned, precision Engineering business based in Plymouth who are expanding their Engineering team to work within high-end TURNING CNC technology. The purpose of the CNC Turner is to set Star CNC Lathe machinery to tight tolerances. Main Duties: To read and understand engineering drawings & Specifications to set CNC Turning Machines . Select and correctly fit tooling, jigs and fixtures. To set programs and adjust bar feeds. To adjust and tweak programs. Ability to work to tight deadlines Sign off 1 st batch. Work alongside quality to ensure reduced waste. Use Verniers & Micrometers. Support the running of machinery and ensure coolants/oils are topped up at all times. Ensure any breakdowns are reported immediately to supervisors and maintenance team. Skills & Qualifications Required: Previous experience as a Turning CNC Machinist is essential. Ideally Apprentice Trained with STAR experience Good problem solving skills. Excellent Maths skills and use of measuring equipment is a must. Able to develop strong effective relationships with all departments. Excellent attention to detail and organised.
