Duties and Responsibilities Perform mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software (Creo preferred but not mandatory). Adhere to standards for mechanical engineering best practice. Deliver innovative, optimized engineering solutions and design results that meet requirements, budget, and timescales. Exercise integrity, collaborate respectfully, and challenge ideas constructively. Conduct initial structural analysis to determine if a design is fit for purpose. Conceive, design, analyze, optimize, detail, and validate new mechanical and electromechanical systems. Ensure design satisfies product requirements (functionality, performance, cost, quality) and project constraints (timing, budget). Assure design robustness and product quality through engineering diligence and comprehensive validation testing. Visit customer locations with Sales and Product Management to understand customer needs and product concerns firsthand. Collaborate within a cross-functional team and communicate across the organization. Learn and demonstrate Allegion values and contribute to continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. 5 years of relevant technical experience. English language fluency (mandatory). Travel: approximately 20%. Key competencies include: ability to share best practices, work to deadlines, contribute to manufacturability improvements, strong communication, creative problem solving, knowledge of CAD/PDM tools, understanding of manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
