This position involves advocating for individuals and families to ensure they receive the highest quality of care. The RN is accountable for adhering to all standards of practice and professional development in line with nursing regulations and ethical guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients. Serve as the primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, ensuring a focus on safety, effectiveness, competence, cost-efficiency, and patient impact. Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management, utilizing available resources. Administer medications safely and according to established protocols, maintaining a thorough understanding of pharmacology. Collaborate with team members to manage staffing, resources, time, and supplies efficiently. Adhere to nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements, actively contributing to shared governance by participating in unit councils and improvement initiatives. Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain competency and enhance practice. Integrate nursing research and current evidence into clinical practice. Provide a supportive learning environment for new staff and students. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience, with at least 5 years of direct patient care experience preferred. Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent judgement and critical thinking abilities. Organizational understanding and effective time management skills. Problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to safety and risk management. Education & Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current New York State RN License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). Preferred education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
