Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

A leading UK building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding Birmingham office. The Role As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will: Contribute to the design, specification, and delivery of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, public health, low-carbon design solutions). Work closely with senior engineers, clients, architects, and fellow consultants to deliver high-quality projects. Carry out engineering calculations, technical drawings, and design reports. Support project management activities, including site visits, inspections, and client meetings. Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team. About You The ideal candidate will have: A degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. 3-5 years experience within a consultancy or contractor design environment. Progress towards Chartered Engineer status (or the ambition to pursue this). Strong skills in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, or similar. Good knowledge of current building regulations, sustainability standards, and low-carbon design principles. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
