About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery/OB/GYNJob Duration: [Information not provided]Shift: Nights, 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: [Information not provided]Experience: Previous OB/LD experience required; Fetal Monitoring experience preferredLicense: Current RN licensure requiredCertifications: NRP Certification required; BLS, STABLE Certification required; AWHONN Certification preferred; BSN or higher preferredMust-Have: EMR experience a mustJob Description:- Prescribe and coordinate professional nursing care for assigned obstetrics patients.- Carry out responsibilities independently within guidelines of accepted nursing practice, medical direction, and hospital policies.- Embrace daily challenges and endless learning opportunities within the Birthing Suite.- Provide nursing care in an 8-bed LDRP unit, delivering over 350 babies annually.- Be cross-trained in all aspects of obstetrical care within the Birthing Suite.- Collaborate with an established OB/GYN and pediatric group in a team environment.- Assess, plan, organize, supervise, provide, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process.- Maintain a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio for active labor and 1:2/3 for Mother/Baby care.- Assist patients with a range of birthing options from natural childbirth to full epidural anesthesia.- Provide individualized nursing care offering comfort, care, and medical expertise throughout labor.- Access potential employment retention benefits like health insurance, dental insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, paid vacations and holidays, and opportunities for advancement.
