About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: Permanent Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 Experience: One year of medical-surgical nursing experience required; Telemetry and ICU experience required License: Current New Hampshire RN license (or compact) Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) required; PALS recommended; PCCN or CCRN preferred Must-Have: Rhythm Recognition or Basic Arrhythmia experience; ability to read vital signs and provide injections/vaccinations; ability to learn and adapt; ability to direct others Job Description: - Prescribe and coordinate professional nursing care for assigned patients within the ICU, following accepted nursing practices, medical direction, and hospital policies. - Operate independently while maintaining communication with other shifts to ensure continuity of care. - Be flexible in willingness to float to Med Surge and regular ICU when necessary. - Participate in all phases of education, record maintenance, and upgrading of policies and procedures. - Maintain effective relations with other departments and nursing units. - Orient with hands-on training over 4 to 6 weeks before full-time floor duties. - Provide care in a 2-bed step-down unit with a patient ratio of 2:1. - Must have experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); familiarity with Allscripts Paragon preferred. - Engage in continuous personal and professional development, attending to both policy and skills improvement. - Comply with the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards, as well as specialty-specific professional standards.
