Contracts / Project Manager – Flooring Sector Location: Romford, Essex (with projects across London & South East) Salary: Up to £73,000 (DOE) Benefits Contract: Full-time, Permanent About the Company We are delighted to be working with a well-established, family-run Flooring Contractor with a strong reputation across the South of England. With decades of expertise, the business delivers a wide portfolio of bespoke and large-scale flooring projects throughout London, the Home Counties, and the South East. Our client specialises in a variety of sectors, including: * Commercial & Office Developments * Healthcare & Education Projects * Residential and Industrial Contracts * Bespoke Ceramic & Specialist Flooring Installations Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Contracts / Project Manager to join their team and oversee multiple flooring projects from inception through to final handover. The Role As a Contracts / Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for delivering multiple flooring projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role, working closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Manage flooring projects from sign-off through to completion, including procurement, planning, delivery, and final account sign-off. * Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants, maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle. * Oversee site activities, managing contractors and operatives to ensure works are delivered to specification and quality standards. * Carry out quality checks, arrange remedial works where required, and ensure projects meet client expectations. * Lead on health & safety compliance, including RAMS, COSHH, toolbox talks, and site audits. * Ensure all materials, plant, and resources are available in line with project requirements. * Prepare and manage valuations, variations, and cost monitoring to ensure budget compliance. * Work closely with the Commercial and Accounts teams to provide accurate financial reporting. * Attend project meetings and liaise with the Managing Director on project delivery and progress. Requirements – About You To be successful in this role, you will bring a solid track record in managing flooring projects (contract and commercial), with the ability to oversee multiple contracts simultaneously. Essential Skills & Experience: * Proven experience as a Project / Contracts Manager within the flooring sector. * Strong knowledge of flooring products, specifications, subfloor preparation, and moisture issues. * Experience delivering projects for main contractors – national, regional, and local – with project values ranging from £1,000 to £1m. * Commercial awareness and ability to manage costs, valuations, and variations. * Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills. * Proficient with Microsoft Office and industry software (Callidus/Quickscale, Fieldview, Viewpoint, or similar). * Full UK Driving Licence & valid CSCS card. Desirable: * SMSTS / SSSTS, IOSH, or other health & safety qualifications. * Ambitious, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems effectively. * Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
