Structural Steel Detailer - SolidWorks/Tekla Permanent Full-Time Salary - Circa £40,000 DOE Location - Office Based in Tonbridge Join a well-established and growing specialist in steel buildings and fabricated structures, serving sectors across the UK. With decades of experience and a collaborative team culture, the company is known for delivering high-quality, durable, and innovative structural solutions from concept to completion. Due to continued growth, they're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in structural steel design and proficiency in SolidWorks or Tekla. This is a hands-on, office-based role where you'll play a key part in designing and detailing steel structures for fabrication and installation. Responsibilities, but are not limited to Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or Tekla Design structural steel components, including weldments, sheet metal, and fabricated assemblies Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable Develop design specifications, BOMs, and support continuous improvement of design processes Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering discussionsExperiences required Minimum 2 years' experience in structural steel design Proficiency in SolidWorks and Tekla Structures is advantageous Strong understanding of fabrication, weldments, and sheet metal design Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials Experience in load-bearing structural design Ability to work independently and within a small, collaborative team Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPackage 40 Hours P/W | Monday to Friday | Flexible Hours (7:30am - 5pm) | 33 Days Holiday Inc.
