Steel Detailer

We are seeking an experienced Steel Draughtsperson/Detailer to join our well-established steel fabrication company. Supplying a wide range of steel solutions across multiple industries, we are looking for a talented individual with proven experience in steel detailing and strong knowledge of TEKLA Structures or similar 3D CAD packages. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, liaise with clients and engineers, and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality fabrication drawings. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and issue 3D general arrangement drawings and 2D/3D fabrication drawings for small steel items and larger fabricated structures * Produce material take-offs and bolt lists for projects * Liaise with clients, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate detailing and design solutions * Apply standardised design practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support smooth fabrication and installation * Ensure all drawings are accurate, detailed, and compliant with project requirements The Ideal Candidate * Previous experience working in the steelwork industry producing fabrication drawings * Strong knowledge and practical use of TEKLA Structures (or similar 3D steel detailing software) * Confident user of Microsoft Office applications * Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams * Knowledge of fabrication and site fitting methods for steelwork (desirable) * Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team What We Offer * Competitive salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) * Opportunity to work with a well-established, reputable steel fabrication business * Varied and interesting projects across different industries * Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional development How to Apply If you’re an experienced Steel Detailer with TEKLA expertise and looking for your next opportunity, we’d love to hear from you
