Job Role: Site Operative Location: NG 22 Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent role Salary: Hourly pay starting £15.50 PH Increase to £16.50 on completion of 6 month probation (or earlier at employers discretion) Increase to £17 on completion of 12 months (all performance related) About the Role AJ&U Recruitment are looking for a skilled and motivated Site Operative to join Manufacturing and Supply business for Plastic Pipe Installation team. This role will be a key role for installation of large diameter plastic pipe systems for drainage, water and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will be working in a team and carry out welding and fitting both above and below ground at various sites in UK. This is a hands on and travel-based role, often requiring overnight stays during the working week. Travel, accommodation and meals are fully covered for your travel away. Benefits for a Site Operative: * Hourly pay starting £15.50 PH * Increase to £16.50 on completion of 6 month probation (or earlier at employers discretion) * Increase to £17 on completion of 12 months (all performance related) * On-site parking * 21 days of paid holiday * Pension scheme * Paid overtime * Christmas bonus and a genuinely positive work culture, * Company that offer more than just a job — we want you to be a part of our growth in the future. * Full training in specialist plastic welding systems before going on-site * Ongoing support for industry certifications (CSCS, confined space, etc.) * PPE and all necessary tools provided * Travel, accommodation, and meals covered during site work * Opportunities for career progression within a growing, supportive company Key Responsibilities as a Site Operative * Weld large diameter plastic pipe systems on construction sites * Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively * Work in medium-risk confined spaces as required * Assist with fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of plastic pipe systems * Perform fabrication and assembly of components in our factory as needed * Carry out regular equipment and vehicle checks (where applicable) * Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others Requirements for the Site Operative: * Confined Space (required) * CSCS (required) * Willingness to travel: 75% (required) * Comfortable using hand tools and power tools * Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance and problem-solving * Experience in construction, utilities, or manufacturing/fabrication preferred * Willingness to travel and work away from home (Monday–Friday typical) AJ&U Recruitment is acting as an employment agency on behalf of our client.
